Here's how to make a CWB (Christopher W. B.) Melt:
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Cover baking sheet with tinfoil (CWB doesn't do this but I've found it makes for easier cleanup)
- Place two pieces of whole wheat bread on baking sheet (multiply 2 by number of sandwiches desired)
- Spread desired amount of mayonnaise, hummus, or veganaise onto both pieces of bread. (I like mayo or spinach-artichoke hummus)
- Put one piece of cheese on each piece of bread (I like Colby Jack or Extra Sharp Cheddar. He likes the vegan stuff)
- Add desired veggies to one piece of bread (I prefer red onions and tomato slices)
- For the carnivores, add 4-5 slices of deli-sliced turkey to the bread without the veggies on it
- Add another piece of cheese on top of the turkey
- Put baking sheet with sandwich open-faced in oven for 7-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. (I like to put it in for about 8 minutes then broil on low for a minute)
- Take out baking sheet, put sandwich together, and VOILA! A yummy, famous CWB melt. It's almost as good as he makes them.
I swear Chris must put crack in his because I can never get mine to be as addictive as his but they come pretty close! When I've had a long day and wish he were here, this sandwich and talking to him make it a little more bearable!
Sandwiches are always better when some one else makes them. But I love that you named a sandwich after me. I've never had one before. I like that I got a melt:). Love ya crazy!!
